Placement Goals Summary

This report is a summary of each job group’s placement goals shown on one report for convenience.

General Report Options

Fill in the desired report title, header, footer, and select desired display options (suppress snapshot/plan date, print page numbers, allow text wrap, show report created on date).

Report-Specific Options

Add Race / Gender Detail - Check this box to include all gender and race groups in the report.  Leave it unchecked to include only the groups Females and Total Minorities.  This option would normally be unchecked in an initial AAP, unless specifically asked for.

NOTE: In many analyses, the Total Minorities result does not equal the sum of the individual minority groups.  This typically occurs when some groups are over-utilized, which offsets the underutilization of other groups, and will lower the "Addt'l Needed" for the Total Minorities group.

Suppress Test Results  - Check this box to suppress (not show on report) the results of the selected utilization test.  This is most commonly suppressed unless specifically requested.

Suppress Number Needed to Eliminate Problem Area - Check this box to suppress (not show on report) how many additional employees are required in each gender and race group to eliminate the group's underutilization as calculated by the selected utilization test.  This is most commonly suppressed unless specifically requested.

Suppress Number Needed to Reach Availability - Check this box to suppress (not show on report) the number of additional employees needed to reach availability.  This is most commonly used for reports submitted with plans. This is most commonly suppressed unless specifically requested.

Select Utilization Test - Select the type of utilization test to be performed.

  • Any Difference: underutilization is declared if there is any difference between the utilization percentage (actual representation) and the availability percentage (expected representation).
  • Whole Person: underutilization is declared if the actual representation is at least one whole person lower than the number predicted by the expected representation.
  • 80% Rule: underutilization is declared only when the actual representation is less than 80% of the expected representation.
  • Standard Deviation: underutilization is declared when the difference between actual and expected representation yields a standard deviation result of 1.96 or higher.
  • Exact Binomial: underutilization is declared when the difference between actual and expected representation yields a standard deviation result of 1.96 or higher.
  • 80% Rule with Whole Person: underutilization is declared when the expected representation exceeds actual representation by at least one whole person *and* the actual representation is less than 80% of the expected representation.

Job Group(s) to Print - Check the box next to the specific job groups to be included in the report, or check the box in the column header to select all job groups.

NOTE: Job Groups will appear on the report in the same order shown here (alphabetically by default).  To change the order, click to select a job group, and use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to move the group up or down the list.
